Russian Disco vs Vulgar Boatman - so you know what happened after the set from FSB we've rewound back 2 hours or so... We posed a challenge to our two top Russki DJs... GO BACK TO BACK! These guys played unpredictable Russki tracks that will go Gyp-Punk-Criminal-Rock pop and so much more... the audiecne expected to be sent to the Kremlin.

bP - following the Russki's bP pulled out his fave brassy tunes with a few Finnish Hummpa things and the occasional Aussie based Gyp tunes.... raing the tempo a bit...

Zaibatsu - An hour long exploration into the extremes of digital music coming out of France, Brasil, the UK, Japan and USA amongst others... Quite edgey digital techniques are penetrating  the Hip Hop, Reggae and Latin genres... therefore morphing and mutating into new so called 'genres'.

Russ Jones - One of the Future World Funk DJ duo, Russ sends these sets over from the Uk for Australia to enjoy... His trademark party vibe eminates strongly thru his use of house, tribal and high tempo funk rhythms... He's even got some Bhangra  in this mix...

Liberation Chabalala - Mixed this week in Cape Town South Africa, Liberation Chabalala has a global outlook, yet pulls from his local musical surroundings to also combine the beats of Kwaito, Afro Beat, Afro Jazz and Funk...

Mashy P - In this mix Mashy drops an array of his Brasilian Baile Funk collection... Eminating from the Favelas of the major Brasilian cities... Raceless - One of the Uber Lingua Melbourne resident DJs and an MC in the act Curse Ov Dialect Raceless normally focuses on the obscure end of the USA Hip Hop scene but also has a pretty wild multi-lingual music collection... In this set he reveals his favourite combination of sounds Hip Hop with a mad array of global cultural samples... Something that's prevelant in the Curse music beds... alongside some choice reggae and vintage south east Asian tracks that was lifted off cassette...

Johnny Topper - Johnny is an elder statesman of the Groove and Funk scene in Melbourne. A DJ for nearing 30 years, Johnny has been spotted providing hip swaying sounds for generation after generation in the left field lounge bars of Victoria since the 70's...

DJedi - DJedi is our resident post-bush party DJ... as in he brings with him psychedelic aspects of the DJ sets he's enjoyed over the past decade and applies them thru his choice of Global beats... Acts such as Karsh Kale and Cheb I Sabbah are woven within his set providing a pure mix of ancient ritual with the repetitive electronic beats of the 21st century.

sakamoiz - this DJ has a truly wild catalogue of music and in this set he went 'dubbed out'... playing an epic 3 hour early slot at St Jeromes, this is the first half with tracks in German, Basque, Mexican Spanish alongside many other lingoes...

bP - bP provides a similarly chilled and diverse selection... An early slot wander this hour includes tracks in Macedonian, Brasilian Portuguese, Maori, French, Mandarin and Quebecios... All nicely beat mixed too..

Vulgar Boatman - A member of the Russian Criminal Band 'Vulgargrad', this DJ plays Ruski music from the past 100 years including Hip Hop, Folk, Ska and Punk... He recently travelled to central Russia and picked up some real gems...

Mashy P  - Global Boombox is what that Mr P has called this mix... It features German, Zambian, Indian, Brasilian and other tracks of assorted cultural backgrounds to make it one of his trademark mashes... well mashed to be exact... 

Mr Fish - ...from Reunion Island mixed this set in his studio in St Kilda whilst his DJ gear began to break. The end of the set includes all sorts of elaborate ways of covering up incredibly co-incidental multiple breakages at the same time! It just shows how on to it and up for a challenge Mr Fish is... 

sakamoiz - a prototype event we did at North Bazaar on the 20th of Oct 2006 resulted in sakamoiz playing at Midnight... he dropped this set before being Joined by Lord Lingham dfor a subtle sound slash... 

Lord Lingham vs sakamoiz - these guys do something wild when they sound clash, they mix 5 tracks each... that means it may take 20 minutes to get back on the decks... nice set as a result though...

Lord Lingham - On the 15th of October the Melbourne Qawali Festival happened at Sandown Park. bP, sakamoiz and Lord Lingham made the trek, and this is the set 'LL 'did whist being constantly harrassed by Punjabi punters to "PLAY MORE BHANGRA!!!!!"

FSB - This is a collection of exquisite Eastern European instrumental electonic music... amazing stuff... 

DJedi - A post bush-party Dj who's got an inkling for the Psycadelic 
side of music, yet fits into the Uber Lingua spectrum of sound thru 
being fascinated with the up beat world beats scene that includes the 
Six Degrees record label and assorted other Hose and Techno concoctions. This set was recorded at Cosmopolis 5.

FSB - Based in Perth of Bulgarian background who's our expert in all 
things Eastern European... In this set he explores the wilder side of
Balkan Hip Hop and Slavic Rap...

bP - A set also played at the Cosmopolis 5 (after Djedi)... used to get 
a fairly sombre Melbourne Grand Final crowd on their feet. The AC DC 
samples found in the Baile funk closed the deal and assorted punters 
bopped away unified by the music...

Mashy P - Mr P went to Qatar back in 2004 providing Arabic sounds for a performance by Australian performance artists Icarus... In this set he 
re-visits the trip and drops some of his all time favourite Arabic 
tracks... alongside much music he's actually made himself.

Sakamoiz - A set performed at St Jeromes a few weeks back celebrating some of the sounds he's picked up at assorted festivals and events he's attended like THIS IS NOT ART in Newcastle.
 

Qua - Usually a semi-famous Australian Electronic artist, Qua came and dropped a guest DJ set at Jeromes a few weeks back... Here he combines his diverse collection of electronic sound with a growing stockpile of retro ethnic exotica.

Lord Lingham - A set performed at the Melbourne Funk Ball 2 in September, Lingham delves into the wonderful world of Brazilian Baile funk.

Mashy P -  This set explores Mashy's recent trip to Thailand... where he attended a festival and picked up lotsa choice tunes... He also dropped a bit of Jap... and Mandarin Rap that bP grabbed when he was in Beijing last year... 

Ennio Styles vs bP - These two approach music in very different ways but had a ball at the Melb Funk Ball recently... Ennio drops his very elegant post-samba beats... bP drops brutal baile and a bit of retro Brazilian Acid House... crazy as... 

SaddhuZero - this Frenchman drops what he aimed to... a set at St Jeromes that highlights the two most active French music movements of now... French Dub/DnB and ultra-ecclectic Hip Hop... 

Lord Lingham - this is the Lord... Lord Lingham... this is a recording of the set he performed at COSMOPOLIS 4 at Loop back in August... It's quite powerful stufff....

Rashid BB - an Arabic language teacher by trade... Rashid played at Jeromes in mid-september and seduced the crowd with his beautiful beats.

Richi Madan - Richi actually played at the same St Jeromes night that Mr Fish played... this naturally follows what went before so who are we to change things round for the broadcast... hehe... 

bP - this bracket is made up of the set bP did directly after Richi and Mr Fish, and also an early set he played a Jeromes a few weeks back using discs he had only recently added to his CD folder...

ADP - Very proudly a Greek Australian, ADP makes his debut on the SBS airwaves with a set he performed at St Jeromes last Thursday night, delving into the massive wad of sounds he gathered when he was in Athens last year...

Sakamoiz  - Swiss Born with a Mexican soul... This set was recorded last week at St Jeromes Melbourne... starts off with international hip hop and then moves into more rootsy forms... 
 

Zaibatsu - Purveyor of urban sonic mutations... this set is inspired by the favela funk sounds of Brasil, and goes futher... perfect for a Friday night cruise. 

Russian Disko delves into the depths of the Moscow and Berlin Ruski beat scene and thows in a few locally produced gems in there also. 

Madrid Gordon live in the ACT but perform around Australia. This set was done at our FINALE event at Candy's Apartment Sydney in 2005. Has live percussion by Mario Gordon and Alistair Wallis, alongside the selection skills of Carnivale main man... Frank Madrid... 

bP - Recorded last week at St Jeromes to a packed house...  this set includes about 15 languages in the sapce of one and three quarter hours... 

Richi Madan is one of the most active exponents of sub-continental sonic scene... This is a brief excerpt of a set he did at Urban Djenga Vibes a couple of weeks back and is a preview of a forthcoming hour or so he'll offer up to this slot in the coming weeks... enjoy!

Direct from South Africa via the USA... Liberation Chabalala (SHAH-bah-lah-lah), who played as 'Jools' when he was in Australia back in the Summer of 04/05...
